Ms Sulyporn Kulsrethsiri; (Director)
Sulyporn has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Statistics from the University of Michigan, an MCRP from Harvard University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
She started her career working as a financial analyst in the agriculture sector in South and Southeast Asia region of the World Bank. Subsequently, she worked as Business Manager for the communication and technology group servicing the World Bank and its affiliates. She was a member of the core team to build up a worldwide internal communication network in the late 1980s with responsibility for sourcing of capital funds, operating budget and rate setting.
She joined the IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank, in the agribusiness department. She was promoted manager and was responsible for IFC’s investment and portfolio in agriculture, agro-processing and agro-industry worldwide. She managed a staff of about 30, booking over $100m per annum of new deals and supervising an investment portfolio of over $1bn globally. She has extensive experience in executing, structuring and restructuring private equity, mezzanine and loan transactions in emerging markets in Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia.
Sulyporn is Thai. She grew up and attended Thammasat University in Bangkok, currently resides in Washington DC and regularly visits Thailand where she maintains a residence.
